Bah Humbug Challenge 25 - Penguins

I am having to post and run so to catch the post .. Another fab. challenge over at Bah Humbug I am just loving the DT cards .. such a fabulous array of cute penguins and style of cards/fancy folds. I must admit to having a bit of a soft spot for penguins. They may be ever so cute looking but, if you have ever watched 'March of the Penguins' then you will know that they do not have an easy life, such extreme weather and conditions they have to endure to protect their young.
I had loads of ideas buzzing around my head then I remembered that I had a Penguin Trinitage that I had never tried before .. even though I had the instructions to follow I went terribly wrong .. so this is a show of how not to make a trintage card! I will have to have another go .. no time now but its on my 'to do list'
Here is my finished card .. remember this is 'how a trinitage card should not look like! You can see the 'tubes!!!
I think it is because I did not print off at 100% ...not the template for the tubes, I did that freehand rather than use the template provided as could not work out where the 100%  option was. Hence the rest of the images were not at 100% either. I think this is why it has gone wrong, not 100% sure, no idea anyhow to do that .. my lexmark isn't the easiest to master such things! I know one thing .. am 100% sure I got it wrong! Hey Ho .. this is how we learn isn't it.

My card also fits in very nicely with CHNC 26 'Anything Goes'

Bah Humbug Challenge 24 - Scarves and Mittens

Oh My .. Over at, Bah Humgug there is a mixture of worry and excitement, Poor Max is poorly with a dreaded bug and Ann .. she is a Grandma .. Very much hope your feeling better Max, and many congratulations again to Ann on becoming a grandma.

This weeks Challenge theme is 'Scarves and Mittens' I had made up some Sizzix Die Cut Mittens, but I had not really chosen the right style of base card to show them off properly so it was back to the drawing board, so to speak. I have instead gone for this fab. RS image .. Sharing Sherbert - Snowball - from Pollycraft Creations. I will put by on one side the sizzix mittens until I can decide which way is best to show them off properly.

CHNC 25 - Christmas Wings

This week over at Crafty Hazelnuts Challenge Blog Hazels says

So for challenge 25 I'd like to see some Christmas wings - in other words, I'd like you to include an angel or a fairy on your card.

I had stamped both an Angel and a Fairy but for the fairy image I realsied I did not have quite the right colourway in card so went for using the lovely Hero Arts Handrawn Christmas Angel. I have kept the card fairly simple.

It's all about 'Attitude' 70th B'day Card

A lady who lives within my mum's complex turns 70 on Sat. She is a huge character and certainly has attitude .. She has my mum in stitches with her antics. I have made this card for her .. Maybe not your usual 70th B'day type card but this lady is not your usual 70yr. old. The Sugar Nellie Goth RS I felt ticked the boxes as to what I was wanting to achieve. Goes quite nicely with the sentiment It's all about 'Attitude' Age is just a number.

Christmas with Attitude

This weeks theme over at Bah Humbug
challenge, No. 23
.. is to create a Christmas card or project for a

Teenager
I had several ideas mulling around my head before I came up with this card using Sugar Nellie Goth Girl RS
My card also fits in very nicely with CHNC Challenge 24 'Buttons' Hazel requests that you use at least 'one button' of which I have .. you will need to spy very carefully on the Goth Girls Tartan Kilt . it is meant to be a pin embellishing the Kilt but my pins were just a tad too bit, so added a tiny button instead.
I coloured the doilie with black soot reinker - I don't have, as yet, the ink pad.

Male Themed Card

I made this card back in May but never got to show it. I made it for my eldest brother's b'day. He owns a similar looking car, as in it has a spoiler and is blue. I know his car is a MG but the model I am not 100% sure of. My colouring has a lot to be desired. It no way does justice to his very shiny, clean car.

I recently purchased the woodgrain RS .. being on my wish list for some time. It makes such a lovely background stamp.I used it with tumbled glass Distress ink.

CHNC 23 - Wintertime Blues

Over at CHNC this weeks theme is 'Wintertime Blues' Such a fab. theme. I just love Hazel's Card .. most defiantely 100% cute. So love the cute penguin too. I have used a DL card as my base then cut away half of the front on the diagonal.  I have used a rollagraph 'swirls and stars' to make the background. This is the 1st time of using the inkadinkado RS .. decided to leave it in its 'natural' state, Usually if  I start faffing around with a RS image it all goes horribly wrong.

Here is my finished card.

CHNC 22 - Use Some Ribbon - Bah Humbug - Surprise! Surprise!!

I paid a visit to Beccy's Place quite recently. Such a lovely blog. Becky has put together an A-Z of Folded Cards
I've decided to put together a list of different card folding techniques, and then slowly work through the list to produce instructions and examples on how to go about making each card. I've come up with a pretty good list of cards so far, but I need your help in finishing it off. If you can think of other types of folds that aren't mentioned below, please let me know and I'll add them. I'm not looking for techniques, such as embossing or stamping, but actual folds or types of cards. Let's see what we can put together!
Beccy's technique class from the list is Accordian Cards I just love her finished card, the fuchsia digital image is just so pretty. I decided that the card would be totally perfect for Hazel's Challenge 22 'Use Some Ribbon'

I am also entering my card in for the  Bah Humbug Challenge 21 'Surprise! Surprise!! I have decided to go with option 1 of 'Surprise us' (Select my own theme') The theme being 'Funky Folds'

Bah Humbug Challenge 21 -Sleigh Bells Ring

Can you belive we are now 6 months into the yr. Seems time now goes much quicker than when I was much younger .. why is that I wonder? It brings to mind the phrase "Time and Tide waits for no man"

Over at Bah Humbug Challenge 21 asks
We've given you a few, not so subtle, clues to our theme this week and you'll have quickly sussed that we want to see jingly-jangly dingly-dangly bells on your projects.
I am sure I had stashed away some dinky bells for such an occasion .. but for the life of me cannot think what I have done with them. They should in theory be in the 'Christmas stash box' but of course that would just be toooooo organized and simple. I did however know exactly where I had stashed away some much bigger 'jingly-jangly dingly-dangly bells' I bought them after seeing these fab. Jingle Bell Phone Charm/Festive Keyrings over at  It's All Fiddle Fart As yet I had not got round to having a go at making some keyrings. I decided that I wanted the keyrings to be very loosely 'festive' but at the same time very 'girly' As I had no small bells to further embellish the keyring I used buttons, coloured with Stazon and added a gem or 2 with some bright ribbons. The bells themselves are not at all loud, but have a gentle jingle jangle sound, so fingers crossed won't be too annoying. I now need to decide if they are going in the girls Christmas stockings or should I make a pretty box for them to be gift packaged. In total I made 2 Keyrings .. the 1st pic. shows the 'various' buttons better, in total there are 3 buttons on each keyring. Floral, round with added gem, and a star.

You can see the 'various' buttons used here better
